HistoryLaunched at the July 2005 Pioneer Network Institute in Portland, OR. Organizational Structure The organizational structure is comprised of three committees:
- Communication
- Education
- Advocacy
Funding
- Funding includes a grant from a local foundation for the development of a training DVD;
- Grant from a local foundation for organizational development;
- In-kind contributions from the 2 provider organizations and the state aging office.
Major Activities This Year

Conducted five ½ day trainings, including two rural sites and one full day conference.
- Hosted and facilitated three Pioneer Network MDS webinar viewings, including one rural site.
- Total number of participants in 2011 education events is 414.
- Held event to celebrate MOVE's anniversary. Peter Reed, CEO, Pioneer Network attended the Celebration and visited Oregon CC communities.
- Created MOVEing Stories culture change highlights video for Celebration
- Participated in Pioneer Network's Creating Home Phase II "Advocating for Change in How and Where We Age." Oregonians hosted ten small group discussions in a variety of settings: Churches, LTC Communities, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and in classrooms.
- Conducted monthly committee meetings (Steering, Education, and Communication)
- Steering Committee held annual strategic planning meeting
- Increased number of volunteers working on all committees
- Maintained web site;
- Participated in the Pioneer Network's Coalitions monthly networking call
- Participated as member of the PN Coalitions Committee (monthly meetings)
- Conducted statewide provider survey relative to MOVE education offerings and provider preferences
- Made a financial contribution to supporting one MOVE member to attend the Pioneer Network Conference.
